A bird in the box (and others elsewhere)
Monday, January 31st, 2011All winter so far a little blue tit has spent each night in our nest box. Set on the side of our shed, and fitted with an infra-red camera we have been able to see each evening as he settles down – usually just before dusk. By the time the sun’s up he’s on his way – I guess the early bird really does catch the worm!
The picture is updated every two minutes. You’ll need to refresh your browser yourself.
We have also set up some fat-balls with seeds embedded, hanging on the washing line and these are visited by a whole range of small birds, including, from early on, a rather aggressive robin. There’s even a pigeon that picks up the seeds that fall onto the floor.
